Alberta Elevating Devices and Amusement Ride Safety Association (AEDARSA) would like to remind all passenger ropeway owners and operators of the inspection code in force at this time.

As of November 1, 1997 the Canadian Standards Association (CSA) Z98-01 Supplements S1-02 & S2-04 No. 1-97 For Passenger Ropeways and Conveyors is the adopted code for the province of Alberta, as per Alberta regulation AR3/2002.

All owners and operators of passenger ropeways are required to have a copy of the CSA Z98-01 Supplements S1-02 & S2-04 No. 1-97 on site.

At this time, the technical committee for the CSA Z-98 code is working on revisions to CSA Z-98. This updated code maybe ready for publication in the near future. AEDARSA will let all passenger ropeway owners know when this has been published and adopted by the province of Alberta.
